SMS Terms

Program and operator

Genuine SC is operated by GENUINE SC LLC, 1312 Hudson St, Hoboken NJ 07030, United States. Genuine SC offers separately selected informational and promotional SMS updates. Informational texts contain political news alerts and new article notifications, including reporting on political fundraising based on selected interests, but do not request contributions or include promotions. Promotional texts promote Genuine SC content. Each SMS choice is optional and requires its own affirmative consent.

Eligibility: age 18 and older

You must be at least 18 years old, reside in the United States, and own or be authorized to use the U.S. mobile number you provide. Do not submit another person’s number without authorization. Contact us if you change or relinquish your number.

Optional, express consent

To request SMS enrollment, affirmatively select either or both of the separate informational and promotional SMS checkboxes and provide a valid U.S. mobile number. Both boxes start unchecked and remain optional. Each selection authorizes only its stated purpose; selecting one does not select the other. SMS consent is not a condition of any purchase, email newsletter subscription, donation, or access to this website. Email consent alone does not enroll you in either SMS stream.

Informational SMS consent: I give Genuine SC my express written consent to receive recurring automated informational text messages with political news alerts and new article notifications at the mobile number provided. Based on my selected interests, these may report on fundraising efforts by political parties or candidates, but will not request contributions or include promotions. Message frequency and charges

Messages are recurring. Message frequency varies. Frequency depends on publication activity and your selected interests; no fixed number of messages is promised. Msg and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s messaging and data charges are your responsibility. Contact your carrier for details about your plan.

SMS sending hours

We send informational and promotional program text messages only between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the recipient’s local time zone. Messages scheduled outside this window are deferred until the next permitted sending window. Where applicable law requires a narrower window, we follow that restriction. These sending hours apply when SMS delivery becomes active.

Revoking consent: STOP and other reasonable methods

You may revoke messaging consent or withdraw a pending subscription request at any time by any reasonable method that clearly communicates your wish to stop messages. Examples include replying STOP or another clear opt-out request to a text once SMS delivery is active, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or contacting [email protected]. These methods are not exclusive, and no specific wording is required.

We honor revocation requests as soon as practicable within the period required by applicable law. SMS consent revocation will be processed within a reasonable time, no later than 10 business days after receipt, or sooner if applicable law requires. A withdrawn pending request will not be activated. You may request cancellation of email, SMS, or both; we honor the scope of your request. Withdrawing consent does not affect access to this website.

Once SMS delivery is active, you may opt out by replying STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, STOPALL, REVOKE or OPTOUT to any program message. After we process an opt-out, we send a single non-marketing text confirming it, and no further program texts are sent unless you provide new consent. After your request is processed, no further program texts will be sent unless you provide new consent. A request limited to SMS does not cancel your email newsletter.

Mobile carriers and availability

The program is intended for U.S. mobile numbers. SMS delivery has not started, and supported carriers have not yet been confirmed. Availability will depend on your carrier, device, coverage, and the messaging provider. Not all carriers or devices may be supported. We do not guarantee that a message will be delivered or received at a particular time.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile opt-in data and non-sharing

Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell mobile numbers. SMS consent is recorded separately from email consent and does not authorize unrelated third-party marketing. See our Privacy Policy for the information we collect, retention, and your choices.

Current program status

The website currently saves pending subscription requests only. Submitting the form does not send a text or verify ownership of your number. SMS delivery, including automated STOP and HELP replies, is not active yet. The interactive examples on SMS Program are demonstrations and do not change a real subscription.

Changes and related terms

Updates to these SMS Terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. Material changes to the messaging purpose require appropriate renewed consent. General website and email newsletter use is covered by our Terms and Conditions.
